I chose this piece because it helps support the claim I am going to be making which is that child stardom contributes to maladaptive behaviors. This article makes an argument that the availability of drugs, sex and alcohol as well as Hollywood life style may contribute to child celebs going bad. This writer uses a casual first person tone that I could incorporate in my paper.

This website has a lot of good articles that argue for and against abortion, which I plan to incorporate in my paper about the girls of 16 & Pregnant/Teen Mom. Most of the articles are written by doctors but there are also interesting anecdotes from abortionists and people whose mothers tried to abort them during pregnancy but lived despite the procedure. The website has a wide range of topics including the history of abortions, hundreds of statistics, and articles discussing how abortion relates to the bible and breast cancer. Abortion is known as an emotional and controversial topic but this website has a ton of fact-based information that address all the issues associated with it.

I like this article because in the beginning, it touches on what I am considering for our final paper. It briefly talks about different artist's and their careers before/after their prison terms...
I also like this article because of it's structure and style. The article title asks is Lil Wayne Hip Hop's Alien, which the article itself seeks to answer. The author does a good job providing examples of how the artist differentiates himself from others in the genre, and possibly how he could be considered an "alien".. although the idea of such a thing is silly, the term stands for something larger and is not to be taken literally. Like in the other article we read as a class, this author uses effective comparisons to convey his message. He compares Lil Wayne's career to the concepts of the popular film Avatar saying that, "Lil Wayne had become an online avatar of urban music".
It's a fun read that speaks with an academic tone while managing to incorporate slang terms and pop culture references.
