3.1 Assignment

1. My principal claim is that shows like 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom show the harsh realities of teenage pregnacy and motherhood and discourage rather than glamorize it. I'm using information from the stars of the show themselves, executive producers of the show and other critics. I want the audience to be aware that there is much more behind the scene struggles of teenage pregnacy.
2. In a professional entertainment/TV blog like TIME
3. The audience is educated may have set beliefs regarding the issues but is open to different opinions. While some of the audience may have seen the show before, it is not aimed at teenage fans.
4. By presenting multiple arguments and credible sources about teenage pregnany and the MTV shows.
5. A source that has opinions and quotes from MTV exectutive producers show the intensions and goals of the show despite how some people may interpet them.
6. This sort of evidence is appropriate to the venue where I want my argument to appear because the audience will want some background on the issues surrounding the show and to hear professional opinions (not just thoughts from the shows fans).
7. With an overview of my claim and its main criticism, then a background of the show and each of the "teen moms," evidence to support my claim and then the other criticisms and opinions.
8. By addressing the main opposing argument and showing how it is a false claim.
