Even Queen Elizabeth's on Facebook?!

The Huffington Post and several other reliable sources, such as the Associated Press, recently revealed that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is now on Facebook. But this isn't the 84-year-old queen's first encounter with social media. She has already launched a flickr account, a Twitter account in 2009, and a YouTube channel since 2007.

For 3.1, I am interested in looking at how celebrities, particularly political figures such as Barack Obama, John McCain, and Queen Elizabeth II have used social media for their campaigns and public images. What are their objectives of using social media and what arguments are they trying to make for their ethos?

An article titled "You're just a Facebook poke and a tweet away from politics" is a good starting example to highlight the topic and bring light to the successes and failures of politicians on social media sites and how it has worked for and against them.
