  3. So why is our culture so intrigued to see what celebrities look like without makeup on? Is it because the photos bring celebrities down from their pedestal of perfection or do people just love to see celebrities’ in their everyday life, without all the airbrushing and re-touching? For most people who seek out tabloid pictures of their favorite celebrities sporting a bare face, it’s a combination of both.

  4. I want to look at the internet celebrity genre. Mostly people who have become famous with Youtube videos. This is my working thesis:

Andy Warhol once said, "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." The internet's rise as a form of entertainment has made everyone's 15 minutes of fame much more accessible.

  5. The rising number of public celebrity kisses has fans and critics wondering the desired argument particular celebrities are trying to make. Whether it be shock appeal, appearing independent, or all in good fun, celebrity kisses have fascinated our culture on and off the screen for decades. However, the intent of the celebrity varies and has evolved over the years, oftentimes criticized as a desperate cry for media attention.

  7. I want to write about reality tv celebrities - focusing on MTV shows like Jersey Shore and Teen Mom. I want to understand or at least get a view of how these people that are essentially being filmed for certain aspects that are not admirable and are becoming famous. Do people watch these shows because they enjoy the drama, to make fun of them, or simply because everyone else knows who they are? The most interesting part about it is how much the media follows them outside of their show - they have become important to our culture for what reason? Celebrities are usually famous for some kind of talent - maybe even physical beauty. It's not like The Real Housewives of whatever... where they have money and are influential people within their communities.

  12. I'm focusing on tabloid TV shows, comparing the difference in the rapport each host has with the celebrities they talk about. For example, there are some celebrities that notoriously love or hate being featured on TMZ. Some call Harvey, the host, out by name while others refuse to talk to the cameraman if they know he's a TMZ guy. Most of the time, TMZ is making fun of the celebs they feature. On the other hand, you've got E! News with Ryan Seacrest. He is a celebrity himself and there seems to be a lot of mutual respect in the interviews he conducts, so he tends to get more candid interviews than, say, the people on ET! who seem to have very shallow soundbytes as their interviews.

I'm thinking about how a persons appearance or the way in which they dress is portrayed or read by viewers, supporters, and or media. Possibly how fashion creates a sort of image or persona for a person and whether or not that person really is the image being portrayed.?...
